Pyrex®, a unique glass

Pyrex® is a borosilicate tempered glass renowned for its superiority. It withstands extreme temperatures: from -40°C to +300°C, as well as thermal shocks of up to 220°C.
This makes it a highly versatile glass that can be used from freezer to oven, from table to fridge, without any damage.

Designed to protect our health: ® Pyrex glass is a healthy material, guaranteed BPA-free, which does not alter the taste of food and does not allow any migration of particles, even when heated.

Pyrex kitchen utensils and tins® guarantee long-lasting products that stand the test of time and life.

Because we believe in the quality of our products, we offer a 10-year guarantee, 5 times longer than the legal warranty.

The secrets of Pyrex glass®

Environmentally conscious technologies

We are constantly innovating to work
with the cleanest possible energy and to reduce our carbon footprint: we have succeeded in reducing
our CO2 emissions by 60% in thirty years
.

Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Our hybrid electric furnace with oxy-gas combustion is a forerunner in the field of borosilicate glass. We have a 25-year track record of energy and environmental optimization, well ahead of the glass industry.

For example, our latest furnace optimization in 2022 reduced natural gas consumption by 15%.

We are committed to protecting the environment, particularly at local level. This involves preserving local biodiversity through eco-pasturing at our Châteauroux site, reducing our consumption of water for industrial use, and sorting and recycling our waste.

In keeping with our environmental commitments, we are proud to be AFAQ ISO 14001 certified.

Eco-design: our approach

Did you know? 100% of the scrap glass produced by our operations (known as cullet) is recycled and used again as an input material for the furnace. This simple and effective method has enabled us to reduce our glass waste to 0.

At Pyrex®, eco-design is at the heart of our objectives when developing our products and their packaging.
We have chosen certified (FSC or PEFC) and recycled cardboard for all our packaging, the lids of our cans are recyclable (except silicone) and we use 100% recycled wooden pallets to transport our goods.

Cullet is our zero waste asset!

French manufacturing excellence

Pyrex® glass is made in France at Châteauroux, in the
largest borosilicate glass furnace in the world!

Pyrex® glass is one of the jewels in the crown of the French glass industry, thanks to a long tradition of expertise and cutting-edge innovation.

We are committed to working closely with suppliers located within a 250km radius of our site in Châteauroux, Indre. This proximity enables us to reduce our carbon footprint, promote French know-how and maintain a relationship of trust with our partners.

In 2017, Pyrex® obtained Origine France Garantie certification for its borosilicate glass products, as 95% of our raw materials are of French and local origin.

Our commitments to our employees

Enriching diversity and promoting inclusion :

At Pyrex®, our commitments are not only
ecological, they are also human.
That's why diversity and inclusion are our top priorities. We are proud to boast a 7% employment rate for people with disabilities, and have been exceeding legal requirements for many years.
And because we strongly believe in professional equality, our Egapro index is set to reach 61/65 points by 2023.

Each of our employees is supported throughout his or her career. Our aim is to offer everyone opportunities for career development, and to safeguard our glassmaking expertise.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees

Safety and well-being in the workplace are also essential and particularly important to us.
Our Occupational Health and Safety Management System obtained Afnor ISO 45001 certification in 2020.

To support our senior employees, we have set up a scheme for our 5x8 teams, enabling them to reorganize their end-of-career during the last year before retirement, with no loss of salary.

A socially responsible company recognized in its region

Preserving and developing glassmaking expertise in France

Since 1970, our commitment to employment in France has also meant preserving French glassmaking know-how and creating sustainable career paths. Experienced employees train newcomers, thus perpetuating a cutting-edge training program and compensating for the lack of training in the industrial glassmaking sector.

Our plant is considered a good corporate citizen: it has maintained its jobs in France for 100 years.

Carrying out our actions with integrity and ethics to support
our territories

From the sourcing of raw materials to our socio-economic contribution through jobs, investments and taxes paid in France, we do everything we can to create wealth throughout our value chain.

Locally, we are proud to contribute to the dynamism of the Châteauroux region. We are involved with
local associations and create events such as the famous Pyrex braderie®, which regularly attracts over 8,000 Castelroussins and other local residents.
