WHAT TIPS CAN WE USE AT HOME TO AVOID WASTE?
WHO HASN'T FORGOTTEN FOOD AT THE BACK OF THE FRIDGE OR IN THE CUPBOARD, UNTIL IT WAS NO LONGER FIT FOR CONSUMPTION?
Our tip: always remember to reorganize your food storage after every shopping trip according to its use-by date. The shorter the best-before date, the easier it is to keep your food within easy reach. And for optimal storage of your fridge, consider using our Pyrex glass boxes®, which allow you to see at a glance what's inside. No more forgetting, no more waste!
Some vegetables are starting to lose their freshness and you won't have time to eat them this week? Don't throw them away! Quickly make a ratatouille: chop the vegetables (tomatoes, zucchinis, carrots, broccoli, etc.) and an onion, brown them in a stewpot with olive oil, season and you're ready to go! Then divide the mixture into small portions in tins and freeze. You can then defrost your ratatouille and eat it with pasta, or as a side dish with meat, or as the base of a lasagne dish, and so on. You'll have reduced your food waste and saved time for next time!
Leftover pasta from your last meal? Head for the fridge! You'll have plenty of time to reheat it later and use your creativity to cook it again in a new recipe. Or how about a pasta salad with pesto?
You bought apples and pears and the family didn't feel like eating them this week? Make a compote from the damaged fruit and store in small tins in the fridge. As a snack or dessert, the compote will be enjoyed quickly and will delight the whole family!
