Rice meatballs with ham and tomato sauce

  • 150g cooked rice
  • 2 slices of white ham
  • 30g grated cheese (Emmental, Comté or Parmesan)
  • 1 egg
  • rusks for the breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil (for brushing)

Recipe

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°C.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine cooked rice, chopped ham slices, grated cheese and egg. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Form into balls. If the mixture is too wet, add a little flour.

Step 4

Roll the dumplings in homemade breadcrumbs (simply crush a few rusks to obtain the crumbs).

Step 5

Place in an ovenproof dish and brush lightly with olive oil.

Step 6

Bake for 20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crisp.

Step 7

Serve with tomato sauce
